Why Join a Fellowship Group?
Seven Reasons to Join!
1. It’s a place where you can ask questions and better understand the Bible. Coming to church on Sunday to worship and hear God’s Word is extremely important, but there is no place in that setting for you to ask questions. Being a part of a group allows you to dig deeper into God’s Word.
2. You will begin to really feel like a part of God’s family. The greatest benefit of being a part of a group is the friendship and close relationships you will develop.
3. You will develop a more meaningful prayer life. As we begin to get to know others in a group, we learn more about each other’s needs and concerns, and praying for others will become more meaningful because of the relationship you share.
4. You will be able to handle stress better. Fellowship groups provide excellent support in times of crisis, change, and stress. You will have a sense of stability and security knowing there are people who really care for you and are committed to standing with you.
5. You will have a natural way to share Christ with other people. As many of us already know, those who don’t know the Lord wouldn’t be caught dead in a church service, but in a relaxed atmosphere where they can ask questions and feel the warmth and loving honesty of group, they will be more receptive to the Good News.
6. You will begin to discover your God given gifts and talents. The Bible teaches us that every believer is given spiritual gifts and talents to be used to edify and build up the body of Christ. As you share in your group, you will begin to discover those gifts and be affirmed of them, this will give you confidence in using those gifts which will help you both in church and every other place you serve.
7. You will be a New Testament Christian! The book of Acts is very clear about how God intends for His people to grow and have their needs met in the church. We will never be able to hire enough professional pastors to meet the needs in our church family. God never intended t to be that way!
